Introducing
B.App. Sci. (Comp. Med), M. Ost
Osteopath & Clinic Owner
Nicola is a fully qualified osteopath registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She attended the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complimentary Medicine) in 2009 and a Masters of Osteopathy in 2011. She is a member of Osteopathy Australia.
Nicola opened Arise Osteopathy in Margaret River in January 2019. In April 2022, she embraced the opportunity to open Arise Health, a communal space for like minded practitioners to work collectively.
Nicola is drawn to osteopathy by its holistic philosophy and gentle hands on approach. She values the large range of techniques available to osteopaths that enable her to care for clients of all ages and treat a wide variety of conditions.
‘I particularly love working with clients over a longer term, to truly unravel their mechanical puzzle, restore long lasting balance and optimise function.’
Nicola has a passion for caring for and empowering the ‘whole person’ by providing integrated health care with other medical and allied health practitioners. Nicola believes that good health is a daily practice for which each individual is responsible. As a health practitioner, her role is to guide, facilitate and educate, ultimately empowering clients towards greater health. Her approach to healthcare strives to be holistic and takes into consideration all factors that affect health.
“To find health should be the objective of the doctor. Anyone can find disease”.
Dr. Andrew Still (surgeon and founder of Osteopathy).
David Bennett
Osteopath
B.App.Sc (ClinSc), B.Ost.Sc.
David originally began his university studies in architecture, inspired by how the structure of a well-designed building significantly influences the functions of physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing for those within it. In Osteopathic Medicine, human body structure is exactly the same, influencing our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
The structure of a human body is also very different to the rigid materials of an architecturally designed building; materials that are chosen to resist change from outside and from within. Human body structure in health is stable, yet fluid, dynamic and always changing from moment to moment. It is strongly influenced by Nature’s guiding therapeutic potential within. This Health within is our original blueprint – present at the very beginning and remaining with us throughout life – but for many it becomes covered over, and perhaps forgotten – with body rigidity, dysfunction and pain being the result. This indwelling Health is at the heart of Biodynamic Osteopathy – a mystery and therapeutic resource that continues to be David’s daily inspiration after 25+ years of practice.
David has pursued extensive post-graduate training in Australia, New Zealand and the US, with a particular interest in the Biodynamics of Osteopathy; preconception, pregnancy and paediatrics from a preventative/inter-generational perspective; and of assisting open-minded adults who seek contentment within their own body, and their place in the world.
David has returned to the South West to be closer to family, loves his dog Rubi, walking in nature, bike riding and time spent on the family farm. He endeavours to bring health to companies and individuals around the world through an Osteopathy inspired Ergonomic Cushion and Wholistic Movement Program. David also greatly appreciates the camaraderie and sharing of knowledge that occurs when working with like-minded practitioners – and as such is delighted to be part of the Arise Osteopathy team at the Arise Health clinic.
